you will see the wear bars. But even with them in good condition you have to really watch the Dunlops in rainy weather. Number one the tire is purty wide and hydroplanes easily. I had a really scary moment once near Montery Cali, where it was wall to wall cars driving the speed limit, 55, and I hit an area were the road had been patched with that greasy black patch material....next thing I new I was making a left hand turn and everyone else was going straight. I just feathered the throttle and the car caught up with itself when the tires came off the patch and hit the regular pavement. My kid thought I did it to impress him...the only thing I impressed was the bottom of my pants. My thinking is that the Dunlops are not the greatest in wet weather....I have a set of mounted Pilots....maybe I should try them.
