Use my '99 2.3 daily. Makes coming and going to work a pleasure, wonder why more people don't ditch their front-drive wonderboxes for a rear-drive roadster. Highly recommended for mental health reasons.

Sure, I wish my car was a garage queen and I only raced her up and down the canyons on sunny weekends, but then again, these cars were born to run. I miss it when I'm away, and feel somewhat claustrophobic in fully enclosed cars now, even my wife's '99 323i.
