Photo must be slightly misleading, for the cupholder is very much more convenient than the one that rests under your elbow.

If you notice in the photo, the shifter is in REVERSE position. How much more room is required. The jibe about auto seems declasse to me.

Actually, there are two cupholders in this unit, if needed. The armrest itself can be positioned full forward, in the middle (like the photo) or full rear, revealing the second cupholder. The armrest does not pivot in any direction...it is an armrest, not a lid.

I seldom have any container of liquid in the car, but when I have in the past, using the standard armrest, it was almost impossible to use except as a carrier. This one has the novelty of actually allowing you to put in and take out a can or bottle.

Plus, in my particular case, it is Imola Red! Not many of those around right now.
