If you followed the ongoing saga of attempting to get matching leather, you know how much of an adventure that was/is.

If you saw the photos posted a couple weeks ago of the custom Z3s made up for the Clemson vs South Carolina football game...you saw how difficult it must be to photograph Imola Red and get it to reproduced/play back accurately. Every vagarie of light seems to shift its spectrum. If you can still find THOSE photos, you can see how ORANGE the color went in them.

The Imola Red leather came directly from BMW's OEM supplier, and is a great match for the leather in my car. Going back and looking at the photos, ALL of the leather does seem to be lighter in the pix than in actuality, and my mind fills in the correct color balance, since I know exactly what it DOES look like.

However, I think it misses Mary Kay by just a bit.
