it sounds like M-roadster will have suspension as M-coupe, not new "M3" coupe (at least that's how I read it). I'm not sure why it didn't have the same suspension before but all I've read says M-coupes do not accelerate dramatically faster than roadsters (i.e. do not turn 0-60 well in the 4's) they just handle better. And that is due mainly to structural rigidity the roadster still won't have, of course. Both will continue to have rear suspension 2 generations behind the M3, right?

Re-read the posts in this thread....press release from BMW says that the firmer suspension from the Coupe (same suspension, just firmer spring rates) will carry over to the M Roadster.
