Agreed. Aging and exposure to humidity are equally likely to darken leather. Tanners call this "patina". The other factor at work here is the factory has to buy leather in dyelots just like the rest of us. They vary from one to the next, as do the cows the leather starts from. The beige interiors are the worst offenders... some are much more brown than others.
