Having run a couple of these, it's a good idea to decide in advance whether you are going to do a "spiritied" run or an easy tour, and convey this to participants, especially if it takes a challenging but scenic route. Those who want to drive fast feel frustrated by those who want to slow down and watch the scenery, and vice versa.
