to accommodate everyone.

Usually in a drive, particularly one of more than one day, there will be one or two legs that just cry out for 'spirited driving', but not everyone wants to play. On those legs it seems to work out well to get the hotshoes at the front of the group, and someone familiar with the route at the front of the rest.

With talkabouts on, it is easy to stay in touch, and you end up with a segment of two groups. No one is pushed to race rather than sightsee. The first drive I spearheaded had this happen by osmosis, rather than planning, and it was great for everyone.

Incidentally, and parenthetically, it is always great fun to get behind Bruce T on one of these spirited runs. Even more fun to get ahead of him. (O:}
