As Vidterry suggested I placed my left hand on the front outside edge of the top and pressed lightly towards the center of the car. Viola! It works like a charm. The problem was lateral misalignment not fore/aft misalignment as I suspected.


For some time now it has taken a great deal of force to secure the top on the driver's side while there is never a problem on the passenger's side. It feels as if I push any harder I will break something. Probably need to visit my dealer but maybe someone can save me the trip. Am driving a 9 month old 00' 2.3 with power top.
