that just came across the tv screen, for the local area, is WORSE than anything so far!!!

Beginning after dark, heavy snow...up to nine inches before sunrise. Winds above 30 mph, temperature well below zero...wind chill factor -50 or COLDER. Blowing and drifting snow, blizzard conditions. Travel NOT recommended.

Locally, the snowplows are pulled off of the streets until the winds go down. Jeesh!

This is more bad winter weather than we have had the last two years. It is not unusual for us in the heartland to NOT have a white Christmas...and to not have had snow accumulation by Christmas. This approaches disaster proportions, and it is not even New Years yet, when the bad weather usually starts.

When I decided not to order snow tires, I did not realize I was so seriously offending the weather gods! Sorry.
