I spent the better part of my life in the Canadian prairies - I remember all too well the slippery streets and the face-freezing, bone-chilling temps. And flat spots frozen into the tires after a 40-below night. Freezing your butt on a seat with as much give as an apple crate. Knowing that if your block heater trips a breaker, you're taking a cab to work... if you can handle the 2 - 3 hour wait for one. Or laying in bed in the morning thinking about that snow shovel beside the front door, which you'll need to get your car out of the driveway. Chimney smoke that doesn't rise. Ah, the good old days.

I admit it - my blood has thinned. I have become... a winter wimp!
