very first things I did was to tell wife Judy I was going to need the steel wheels and snow tires for this car, that I didn't need for the 2.3. I knew so little about the ///M Roadster that I did not realize that there are NO steel wheels for it. Tirerack set me straight in a hurry on that point...and further investigation showed me that no matter what I did, it was going to cost me $1500+ to put Blizzaks on the car for the winter.

(That is 15 times what I paid for my first car!)

Based on previous winters, which had snow and ice, but in moderation, I decided that I could just drive through it...and use the Miata if it got too bad. HEHEHE! It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.

Before next winter I'll have spare alloy wheels, with Blizzaks on them. Not going to do it this year...because (migawd, knock on wood) I believe that this early horrendous winter weather will be the worst of the winter, and it should be downhill once this pattern is past.

BUT...the weather channel says that the last two mild winters were because of El Nino and La Nina (can't do a tilde), and those weather patterns are now gone! Winter should be more winterlike, according to those guys, so I may again regret the decision.

Terry
