My car received thousands of tiny white paint droplets oversprayed from the second floor of a building through the window.

They come off fairly easily with my thumbnail, but that would take forever.

A very detailer that I saw used a 'secret' substance to rub a test section free of the paint. It smelled a little of turpentine.

He wants to rub this in and then rotary buff it lightly with lamb's wool and swears it won't create swirls.

Any opinions as to whether it is wise to let him do this?

Any suggestions as to a standard Meguires or other product that would just as well do it myself?
