the window before I lower the top pretty much eliminates the crease. I just drape it over the window before I lower the top, and let it fall into place naturally as the top goes back. When I drop the top in a hurry and don't use the towel (like at a stop light), I find that the crease returns when the top comes back up a few hours later. This happens to me in both hot and cold weather... and I live in Vancouver, B.C. (Seattle-ish weather)

I think the towel prevents the plastic from bending in too tight a radius, but it stops the scratches and creases for me...

YMMV, of course...
