Granted, I would never arbitrarily flash my brights at someone, nor repeatedly, nor for any length of time. I also don't tailgate these same idiots. BUT- I certainly will use the feature of flashing my brights (many makes actually used to call this the "pass to flash" feature) quickly (and once) in case the person in front of me doesn't move aside when I overtake them at a faster speed and after I've given them ample opportunity to move aside for the faster traffic which should occupy that lane.
It's giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they just *don't* happen to see me and that they don't, in fact, have their head so far up their *ss that they feel they need to be the self-appointed arbiters of what the correct speed on a highway should be!
No offense, BD, you may not have meant this at all- but I've encountered so many people on the road lately who seem to take things like a "flash to pass" or a quick tap on the horn if they sit for seconds after a light greens as a "f**k you", that it makes me wonder what they teach in Driver's Ed these days?
Sorry for the soapboxing everyone- I'll step down now...
