I've seen this on the e39 board several times. Here is what Lew said.

Check to make sure you removed the transport screws and also check the "spring orientation" which is a set of "levers" on the unit's side. Check to make sure both spring sets are aligned for the vertical mounting position of the bracket.

I been having problem with my Z3's CD player constantly skipping (CD changer in the truck , even on mild road surface. the system was checked via dealer but still having problem. can you give any suggestions.
