sure didn't speak to the criticisms I made.

For what compelling reason did you feel like you had to rain on wawuzit's parade. No one was going to think anything of his post, except that he is enthusiastic. Neither he nor most of the rest of us would know anything about German engineering if it was in our living room. We just happen to LIKE a car which was engineered in Germany. That is sort of the point of this board...and your constant criticizing of it really is only an irritant. Folks have long since stopped paying any attention to your gripes, anyway.

Those of us who use our cars -- in whatever way -- and like to talk about them, do not seem to be doing anything particularly harmful or offensive. The fact that some are older than you, and nearly all are more mature, is not in and of itself even a valid subject for conversation. No one that I know of has claimed that older Z-folks are smarter, or better drivers, or anything else. It is just that most of them are here because the have some joy in the car about which this board deals. Your posts are usually joyless.

As for me, I've never been to an autoX, and probably never will be. I've never driven my car on a track, and probably never will. What I have done is drive my car everyday, enjoyed it every time, and will continue to do so. Your carping about its inferiority does not diminish the pleasure at all. I could have had any of the cars you chose to list -- a pretty weird bunch too, by the way -- but picked this one. If you like any or all of the others better, then why not hang on their boards?

As to illogical...it IS illogical to list a bunch of cars, some REALLY losers among them, and use them to belittle Steve's idea that a horsepower gain is a noteworthy thing. Technology and engineering are more than just the highest numbers, and you know it, even though you choose to knock someone else, because he may not. If you know so much about it, why not a treatise on how the engineering in BMW engines is NOT very good. That ought to be amusing.

Finally, after the multitude of anti-BMW and anti-BMW enthusiast postings you have made, if you came on the board now starting to say good things about the car...misspellings or not, no one would believe you anyway. Your idea that this board is full of Z3 cheerleaders is probably one of the few things about which you are correct. If the board was constituted any other way, it would not make much sense, would it? Perhaps you could start an Anti.bimmer.org board, and all of the folks on it could write BAD things about BMWs, and Z3s, and the folks who like them. In fact, I encourage you to do so. It would keep the kids off of the streets, and out of all those cars you chose to list as examples of shining engineering accomplishments.

Now you reply, and that will be an end to this. I don't need the last word, and am completely comfortable letting you burp one more time.
