I also have been fiddling with my '98 1.9's stereo a bit. The stock amp is mounted (looking into the trunk) on the right side. Follow the carpet on the right side up vertically to the top edge and remove the plastic clips (plugs) holding it on. Then peel back the forward edge of the carpet and you'll see a flat gray metal box mounted vertically along the side. Don't be alarmed if you have to work it a bit. There's some hard foam glued to the underside of the carpet, so you might have to wiggle it. There's your amp! As a side note ... the twisted pairs of wires coming out in a large bundle are the seperate speaker wires. Since the system has a built-in crossover, each individual speaker has a wire pair coming out of the amp. Enjoy!

Where do I access my amplifier? Have Bentleys manual but can't quite tell. This book is ok but not detailed enough. Anything else out there?? I have a 1998 1.9 with the HK stereo.
Thanks in advance.
steve
