Autocrossing really chews up your tires, particularly if you are overdriving them as most novice drivers do.

I absolutely agree with Matt regarding over-driving your tires. I've seen guys push so hard through tight corners you could literally see the tire dust flying off the tires (OK maybe it was already on the track but you should have heard the sound!). If you go slow in the slow parts it will save the tires a lot.

FYI, I did my first season of AutoX in an M Roadster last year. I still have much to learn. One thing's for sure, SS is a fast class. I'm switching over to a Talon in G-stock next season. Not as quick or as cool, but cheaper to run and the I'm hoping the competition won't be so stiff.
