I decided to install Bilsteins Sport Shocks HOPING that
it'd raise the car slightly while offering more stability. It raised the car only about 1/2"
in back and about 1/4" in front. That's still about 3/4" lower than stock - a welcome relief
from what it was before PLUS they offered far better control and comfort during straight line and spirited driving. Plus I definitely haven't experienced any kind of shock stop and still have ample shock travel to handle all situations. I was definitely bottoming out with the stock Boge(?) shock and struts!
I did purchase the Bilstein ///M sport shocks which are shorter than normal so perhaps the application for the 2.8 is entirely different?? I ain't a Thunderhill/Sears Point veteran but I've been totally pleased with the HR/Bilstein combination.

the current gap is between the top of the wheel arch and the top of the tire?
