greetings,

im considering purchasing a 00' M Z3 with the Jim C OBD II software download. however, i am concerned about the possiblility of voiding the manufacturer warranty. i searched the archives, and only found 1 message by Mark that BMW has to prove that the software was the direct cause of any malfunction. is it really BMW's burden of proof? are there any other documented cases in regards to this issue as this would definitely be a major decision maker/breaker. any information from you seasoned owners would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is BMW's bruden to prove the software was the cause fo the problem. However, what BMW can't see they can't tell it there. Jim C's software is supposedly undetectable to BMW computers. I have never heard of a problem with Jim C or Dinan's software alone that has caused a problem that BMW has denied warranty coverage on.
