If all you care about is the rear squat and maintaining as much of the stock ride as possible, I would recommend going w/ firmer shocks instead. The stock springs are very soft because BMW uses extended bump stops made of special foam that act to make the suspension progressive. Aftermarket springs don't depend on the extended bump stops (they tell you to cut them), but rather increase the spring rate considerably possibly giving you a harsher ride than you would like (although Dinan and AC Schintzer seem to have milder set ups, but are also $$$). Also, they will lower your car and you will lose suspension travel making it more likely that you will bottom out the suspension. Firmer shocks on the other hand, will give you better control over the transient motion of accelerating hard while maintaining stock ride height and "most" of the compliance. Given what you want, I would suggest Koni adjustables. Order them from someone willing to have them adjusted to your needs. Adjusting them after they are installed is a pain, but in case you find them too soft or too hard, at least you can.
