I used to live in Fuquay-Varina, NC and had got nailed doing 12 over in a 55. The ticket was around $120 and I think 3 pts. I went to court in Dunn, and the DA gave me Faulty Equipment (ie a bad speedometer) So I pled guity to that and the result was no fine,$25 in court costs and 0 pts. I said nothing to the DA at all, and it seemed that she was giving this deal to a lot of people.
There is also a "prayer for justice continued" If you have a clean record you ask for this, and the court holds you ticket. It will not go on your record along as you don't get any other tickets in the next two years. I hope this helps
I was caught doing 67 in a 45 zone in Wake Co, North Carolina, is there anything I can say or do to lessen the impact of the ticket? I have to go to court in April. This is my very first driving violation.
Thanks
Bruce R
