Suspension Upgrades and Options? (archive)

Now that my 1996 Z3 is accumulating some mileage, and some wear and tear on the shocks and springs, I am thinking about suspension options.

I was considering just replacing the stock setup with new OEM parts to get it like it was new, but I figure that for the same amount I could probably get a better suspension.

What are the best options for the Z3? Can you just upgrade the shocks and springs for improvement or is there more involved.

I don't want to spend too much money, but I would like to restore or improve my suspension performance.

Any Suggestions?
