Within reason, you can never change you oil too often. The modern synthetic oil really is a great product compared to the older mineral oils. And you can safely get away with longer periods of time between oil changes. However, I still change mine every 3000 miles. For what the oil and filter cost, it's cheap insurance.

I do not put very many miles on a year (3000-4000). I use Mobil One. Based on this, I change the oil once a year. This is based on BMWs maint. manual that says to change the oil at least once a year. Do you see a problem here, or do you recommend changing it more ofter? Thanks in advance!
