BMW here says follow the manual, that is 2.0 and 2.2 kg (or whatever unit we use over here, sorry), but my tire guy says follow the tire manufacturers specs. In this case 2.8 and 3.0! Pretty big difference, in my opinion (hey, there's another opinion again *s*).

I just feel that drivability increased with tire pressure but so did bumpiness... I now run about 2.6.
