As you may NOT know, Rob Falkner, in the Boxster S, just won SS in Meridian. And he won the ProSolo in Ft. Meyers two weeks ago. And he won Nationals last Fall. And I hear that he plans to change the stock shocks (geez!) to a set of $4,500 hotties.
So, I said "that means that the Boxster S will be bumped up to compete with the faster cars (Z-06, C5 Corvette, RX-7tt), right?" And was told by several folks that the plan was to keep the Boxster S in the slower class - with the M Roadster/Coupe. May not make sense, but there it is. And Rob, who is on the committee making this decision, thinks that his car should be in the slower class.
Do you want to autocross against this car? No!
The only way for us to change this is to write to the Stock Class Advisory Committee. You can fire off a quick email, or much better write an actual letter. There will be so few letters about this (much complaining, few letters) that two or three letters can have an impact. YOU can make a difference.
You should also mention that the 2001 M Roadster/Coupe will be the same car with 100 more HP, a good excuse to put it in the faster class, too (where the new e46 M3 is).
Please help us out, regardless of the car you own. I am hoping to be competitive next year, and this will be my class. But I can't beat Rob!
