I just got the hood and front bumper of my black 99 2.8 Z3 painted (too many rock chips) and it looks great. I was looking for some advise/opinions on the differences between polish finishers and wax. The paint and body shop recommended I use a Meguiar's polish instead of a wax because it is good to let the paint breathe and it will give you a better-looking finish than wax. What are your thoughts and/or experiences?

I just used Griot's Machine polishes 2 & 3 applied w/ random orbital buffer, followed up with Griot's Carnauba wax. The car is Imola Red and the hood looks like you could dive into it:)
