i JUST BOUGHT A 1997 BMW Z3 2.8, THE REAR WINDOW HAS SEVERAL SCRACTHES AND IT IS NOT VERY TRANSPARENT. Keeping the top dowm shortens the life of the rear window?? Do you know of a product to remove scratches of the plastic window? can you replace only the plastic window?? how much would it cost?

I have a question regarding my convertible top. I was told that it is not a good idea to keep the top down for an extended period of time. I have a garage, and would prefer to keep the top down at night if I am going to drive with it down the next day. I have been told that I should not do this and to put it up every evening. Does anyone have any additional information on this subject? Thanks for the advise.

My experience with 2 different BMW convertables is when the top is left down for an "extended" period of time, the material has a tendency to shrink making it very difficult to put at later.
