I've searched the archives and found similar information, but not quite what I need for my uhm dealer.

I have a 2000 M Roadster. The LED in the shift went out. The dealer replaced it. The color of the LED is now red. The original shift LED(and the rest of the instrumentation) was orange. The dealer says there is only one part number and they ordered the correct one. Does this mean I have to live with a red shift LED?

The passenger seat has a slight front to back movement under some acceleration or breaking. The dealer tightened up the bolts and said that was the best they could do. I took the dealer some of the posts from the archive here and they said that none of the posts referenced a 2000 M Roadster. Does this mean I have to live with a seat that moves?

I know that I should be looking for another dealer. The problem there is that my alternatives are many miles away. My current dealer broke plastic off my steering column while cleaning up after the first oil service. It took them six months to replace it. During the second visit there the dealer scratched half of the plastic window. This still has not been resolved. The seat movement and shift led add to my frustration.

How would you handle this?

was a running change made by BMW? Mine was made 11/99. As far as the dealer goes, I'd complain to BMWNA, I'd mention him by name here on the board, and I'd tell him ( in a tactful way ) that if things aren't resolved to your satisfaction, that you are going to do those things.
