I was nervous, too, before I started. I had the advantage of starting with the BMWCCA in San Diego, where you get lots of practice laps and good instructors.

Hey Travis, I bet a lot of you guys are GLAD I no longer go to those down in SD, ha ha. Too bad the guy from Yuma isn't there anymore. He was so pissed at me, that he wanted to set up a fund to buy me R tires to bump me out of C class.

Now as for you Chad, where do you live? SoCal (Cal Club) SCCA has a NOVICE class made just for you. Your 1st 3 events you run in that, and get a FREE instructor. But the BMWCCA events do give you more track time - just most of their instructors are road racers. But they still can teach you to be SMOOTH. And one important thing - go SLOOOOOOW to go FAST!

Another important item - get the book "Secrets of Solo Racing" by Henry A. Watts. Its a keeper!!!
