First off, my sympathies go out to your friend and his family. And it's particularly sad to know he was going to see his mom due to her surgery, and I hope the family's holding together ok. Last Saturday, an acquaintence I rode bikes with for years was killed when he slowed down suddenly in an attempt to navigate thru some bad ruts in the road, and the sob behind him ran thru him. Then Tuesday, the owner of one of the local custom motorcycle shops and a very good friend was killed when some @!#$(@# in an SUV lost control, came across a couple of lanes, and took him out. No serious head injuries, but his right leg had to be amputated just below the knee.

God bless each one of them, and everybody be careful out there.

A student at UC San Diego named Joshua Eber was reported missing on Tuesday as he was trying to drive home in the bad weather to his mom who was to undergo surgery. They found him and his car off of Interstate 5 in some trees today near Oceanside. Josh was 22 years old and he and I both got our Zs at the same time. His was a Navy blue/brown/brown 1.9 with sport package. I know he loved that car and driving it. I know he'll have fun navigating the twisties in Heaven.
