If so, it is the clutch throwout bearing. Apparently the grease dries up and as a result the clutch throwout bearing squeals when you let of the accelerator lightly.

Had same problem on my M3 and also on my girlfriends 328.

Rear diff whine sound like a dull WWWhhhaaaa, wwwhhhaaa.
