read multiple articles stating that the higher the octane, the cleaner the gas. Cleaner gas equals cleaner engine internals IMHO. My father-in-law and I got identical cars in 1981. I used Sunoco 260 at the time, and he made fun of me and used the cheapest no-name crap he could find. After 2 years, his carbuerator was so full of gunk, it had to be replaced as the mechanic showed him it couldn't be rebuilt !! I'll stick with the Ultra.
