guten tag, wie geht es dir? just got back from the heart of Bavaria last night, where the beer is good and the women are cheap. (j/k) :) stayed about a week in Munich, saw the BMW museum, and did the factory tour there.. they actually drink beer while they work, so the next time you bring your 323i in for a defect, you'll know why. ((dont worry, they can't drink too much the guide said) if you are into the history of BMW, the museum is great, but I enjoyed the one in Spartenburg better, short n sweet and you get to view the newer cars. saw a silver Z8 with hardtop yesterday before leaving hotel, along with lots of z3's, 911's, boxsters, and others.. also saw a 550 marrenello pass by going to airport, thought it was an older porsche at first. I would recommend renting a car if you like to drive, the streets are narrow, but not nearly as bad as Paris, we didn't rent a car, for different reasons, but the streets and autobahns were fine. our taxi driver told us you could rent a 911 for 75 dollars a day, not sure where that is, but sounds like helluva deal.
if you plan on going there any time soon, I recommend the Hotel Cristal, 4 star, very nice, bar downstairs where you will meet friendly bartender by the name of Josesph, and the receptionists are all very nice and helpful.. the complimentary breakfast is great, fruit bar, 5 different juices, various meats and swiss cheese, sausages, lots of different pastries, rolls, eggs, really good..
if you're not tired enuff from walking around the city you can go to Kunst Park Ost at night, has about 15 different clubs/discos.. only drawback is, if you are much older than 25, you prolly wont fit in too well, lots of young people there, mostly ages 17-early 20's.. there are other clubs various places, but the park was cool.. I recommend taking a train from hotel, it is a very long walk.
while you're there, take train to Salzburg, very nice city, we did quick bus tour, but next time, want to go to the fortress and inside cathedral. also went to Innsbruck, inbetween the Alps, good place for skiing..
well, it was fun, but next time I go, I would like to rent a car and also learn a lot more german.. most people speak english but not too well... some can say hardly anything in english and others dont want to speak it.. but if you want to meet a lot of Germans, then learn their language, makes it lot easier, if you wanna go and have any questions just email me
