Along with my 1998 Z3 I also have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We have two children (with friends) and two sets of Grandparents. Seating for 5 in the Jeep just doesn't cut it anymore. My wife is not a mini-van mom, she like the Jeep, so a new mini-van is out. A new 7 passenger SUV is also out. I drove and LOVE the new Acura MDX, but $42,000 fully loaded is clearly out! I have taken great care of the Jeep and even with its 107,000 miles, it looks and drives like new (except for a few bumps and bruises). So we wamt to keep the Jeep and upgrade the seating in it. My wife found an aftermarket company that builds and sells third row seating for SUVs. The seat I orderded was built using the same factory fabrics, matches 100% and is of very high quality. I wanted to share this info with you folks becuase I suspect your "other car" might be an SUV.
I installed the seat last night, and with the exception of only a few challenges, the directions, quality and workmanship are A+.
I have no affiliation with this company, this is not spam, just good info.
What about in the Z3/M Coupe? If they could just install a seat/child seat in the rear I might think of buying a Coupe. Even if the it could just seat one child.
