Unless performance isn't the main reason youre getting the car. Drive them back to back and decide. Personally, the 2.3 feels underpowered to me. I originally had a 1.9 and after a few months I knew I needed to upgrade it. Not to say that I didn't enjoy it, but it just felt like it was trying too hard. The 2.3 feels almost as soft as the 1.9. The 2.8 really has the power that this car deserves and needs to perform.

Looking to sell my 2000 323 Ci (35,000 miles in 11 months) and get a Z3. I'd like to keep the purchase price below 30K. With that said do I get 98/99 2.8 with hopefully less than 25K miles, or a 2000 2.3 with less than 10K miles? A main concern is resale value. I'll probably keep the car about a year or so due to the number of miles I drive. I might be slightly optimistic with my price range but time will tell. Any additional comments/advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.
