Does more horsepower per cubic inch mean less overall engine life? I think so. Thats why I was afraid of the HONDA S2000, great car , but will it be around with 80k miles on it?

See you are pretending to know something you don't again.
High HP small NA engine(usually means high redline) doesn't mean short engine life. I know plenty of NSX's that are in 150k miles range, and they were driven HARD, I mean redline everyday and track events few times a year. All they had to do is regular maintainese, it runs like a dream.
S2000 lives 80k miles, you have got to be kidding me.
