Limited slip was standard on a 2.8l. You can look at the diff at the metal tag attached to one of the bolts on the housing. It will give you your ratio and it should have an 'S' on it as well. That means it has LSD.

If you were just spinning one wheel while the other was free wheeling that LSD test doesn't work on BMW limited slip differentials.
