Anyone installed aftermarket disc changer for Z3? (archive)

I have a 98 2.8 Z3 and only have a tape player. I am interested on getting an in-dash CD player to replace the tape player or perhaps install a CD disc changer where the armrest is located between the two seats. My question is: "Does anyone recommend a product, make, model that is best for a Z3?" I called the local BMW dealer and they stated that they have a direct cd changer (non-RF) for my car for $539 installed. Is this a good price? And then do I need a small amp as well. Playing music right now is not as clear as I am used to. I am after clarity and would like to hear great music while driving. Sorry for misc questions all in one post. Thanx for any advice.
