During this time period everything is settling in tolerence wise. That is the reason why you have a break in period. If you buy a car like this then you moght as well disregard the break in period and start driving hard right away. If you plan on keeping the car for only 30k miles then probably it is irrelevant, however if you plan on putting high mileage then you may see the results of a poor or no break in period.
