I think the article the are thinking of was on the 3.0 versus the P-boxster, from Car & Driver. But the Jan (maybe Feb?) Roundel has an article on the 3.0 coupe and it discusses the 2.5 versus the 3.0 roadsters. If memory serves they felt the 3.0 had too much power for its non-M suspension, but YMMV.
