my thermostat went out in december. it was a back-ordered part and took a little over a month to come in. it is a recalled part on one of the other BMW's, but is the same one on our cars.

my symptoms were: thermostat remained in either blue without moving up any, or appearing to warm up then moving back to blue, or escalating to red and remaining there. i had not heat at all.

good luck! beth

something seems to be wrong with my temperature gauge. the needle usually sits at the mid point, but the past 2 days, it's been pointed towards the 3/4 mark. checked the coolant reservoir and discovered that the level was getting low. i filled the reservoir to the halfway mark (as indicated in the owner's manual) and took Brenda out for a spin. after 10 minutes of driving, the needle started wandering off to the 3/4 mark once again.

i'm thinking that maybe my gauge is faulty. anyone else have the same thing happen to them?
