2001 2.5 vs. 3.0 (archive)

As someone who is anxiously anticipating his Black 2001 Z3 2.5 to be constructed in Spartanburg and shipped to Toronto, I was wondering how some of you feel on my decision to go with the 2.5 litre/184HP Z3 over the 3.0 litre/225HP.

Keep in mind, I loaded her up with the OBC, Cruise Control, Chrome line, Sport Seats. After test driving the 2.3 model from the year before, I was more than convinced that the power and response of the 2.5 litre would be ideal for my inner-city driving needs. Furthermore, the additional $6,000-$7,000 to upgrade to the higher model didn't seem warranted (with the only difference being the 17" rear tires, since I loaded up my 2.5i with everything the 3.0 has).

While waiting patiently for the day to come that I might rush over and pick her up once she's ready, I'm feeling some degree of self-doubt that I may regret not going that extra mile to get the additional power...

I wouldn't mind hearing from those of you that have experienced the ride in both these models, in order to give me the definitive opinion of how they differ in performance (for inner-city, highway, and long countryside stretches).
