Its purely a personal choice and a matter of how far you are willing to go. I purchased my Y2K Z3 2.3 (w/2.5l) in the first part of January this year in Western Canada. Sure, its last year's model but I do believe I saved a lot (14% off list price) otherwise I wouldn't be able to get into a Z3. It's the base model with minimal options, but not everybody can tell the difference when its parked on the street. I am happy with it.

So, be happy with the decision you have made. Some people will say that you should have gone for the M-Roadster, others will say should go for the 3.0 while some will say you should stay with the bare bone 2.5. They all have good reasons, but only yours count. Good luck!
