I never set out to impress a woman with my car but you really do kinda hope they'll be attracted to it some.

I've noticed the exact opposite.

Every attractive woman I know (including, and especially my wife) loves these cars.

When I was deciding on a vehicle, I got such a positive response whenever I mentioned the Z3 (sometimes having to refer to it as the James Bond Car) that I started commenting on the phenomenon to single friends of mine.

So far, none of them has bought a Z3, and they're all still single.
