In my opinion, if your son gets a vehicle that he is interested in, he is more likely to take care of it, enjoy, and perhaps learn some basic auto mechanics, simply because he enjoys the car and what he derives from it. If you get him a new Hyundai or something, he will probably hate the car and the criticism from his peers, and will be less likely to take care of it and maintain it. Just my $.02.

does anyone on this board have any experience with these cars? From all I read they seem to be reliable. The car is at a dealer and they are asking $12K. I looked up several prices on the net and the car seems to be a $10,3K retail.I ran a carfax and it came up clean. My son is 19 and needs a reliable car for school and work. Any thoughts or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks

My ex gave my daughter her Eagle Summit and she obviously is grateful for the car, but there is no pride in ownership:( My car on the other hand she constantly drools over:)
