Questions on '97, '98 Z3 (archive)

BMW Team,
I'm looking at a couple '97 and '98 Z3s - considering a purchase. A few questions have come to mind - hoping the forum's collective experience can share some answers:
1. '98 has rollbars standard - I've been told the '97s can have them added at the dealership. Is this true? Anyone done it? What's the expense?
2. Passenger's side airbag - is there a kit to disable it so a childseat can be added (occasionally)?
3. Whats a fair price for a 1.9l in model year '97 or '98? Seems all the dealerships start at $25k-$26k, but I sense $19k-$22k is the going rate.
