I'd do springs and shock/struts first because (archive)

I have seen a lot of similar comments but am looking for a phased approach to solving the problem. I plan to track a bit and drive the car as it was meant to.

Can I start with springs and camber plates or is that a waste of time without matching struts? If I do springs and sway bars is that enough to firm things up?

I have heard ( though not experienced ) of premature shock failure due to the shorter spring. I think they do need sway bars too, but I don't know how the stock shocks will fare with the lowering springs.
