been many years since I've held a Telecaster but I'm sure the guitar itself would fit. Doubt if those big ole slabsided cases would if that's what they still have, so you'd probably have to get a smaller contoured one.

IF the guitar can't ride up front with you because of a passenger, I suggest you buy a bigger car or put the passenger in the trunk instead. No seriously, carrying it in the trunk of a car (especially leaving it there for any length of time) is not good due to the extremes of temperature it will suffer.
